The Quiet Game was first published in 1999 by Dutton in the United States. From Tennessee Williams to Eudora Welty, John Grisham to William Faulkner and now Greg Iles, the Magnolia State is home to a plethora of skilled writers. Mississippi has long been known for its prowess in prose. His first novel, Spandau Phoenix, a thriller about Nazi war criminal Rudolf Hess, was published in 1992 and became a New York Times bestseller. He spent his youth in Natchez, Mississippi, and graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1983. Novelist Greg Iles was born in Germany, where his father ran the US Embassy Medical Clinic during the height of the Cold War. And knowing that Stephen King endorsed the work of Greg Iles is good enough reason for me to not waste any more time. This author has been recommended to me by my husband. This book review marks my first tryst with the literary works of Greg Iles. Given my dismal start to the year, it would be nothing short of a miracle if I can catch up but I sure am going to try □ And since I've decided to keep up with reading, I will be more prudent in the books I review on the blog, winnowing down to those I deem worthy of discussion. Now I've started to feel that my previous 15 books a year target seems lazy and 50 (that earlier seemed impossible) might be doable if I stick to fiction. I have been sticking to my resolution of making reading a priority and I am surprised by the negligible effort it has taken. I would recommend this book for 11-14 year olds but really anyoneĬould like this book if you like adventure and exciting plot twists. One thing I don't like about this story is that after he crashes the plane it isn't super exciting because he’s just trying to get food and survive. For example when he crashes in a plane it is very scary and exciting at the same time. One thing I like about this book is that parts of it are very action packed and exciting to read. He was on a small bush plane to visit his father at an oil plantation when the plane crashed in the middle of the Canadian woods. Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, First Edition Hatchet Hatchet Brians Return (A Hatchet Adventure) Brians Hunt (A Hatchet Adventure) Brians Winter (A Hatchet. This book was written in 1986 and the author is Gary Paulsen. Have you ever been stranded in the woods as a 13 years old? In the book, Hatchet, Brian Robeson was stuck in the woods left to survive on his own at 13 years old. |
